Welcome, Neighbor—You Have Entered the Mission Field!
Begin by discovering the purpose of this ministry which includes online faith-based devotionals on-line programs. Then explore one or all three areas of service: Individual Service, Community Service, and Advocacy in Civic Service.
Neighbor, God has raised you up for such a time as this. The church has prepared and strengthened you for the next step—putting what you have learned into action. Imagine leaving your church parking lot and seeing a large, bold sign that reads:
YOU ARE ENTERING YOUR MISSION FIELD
What if, every time you walked through the church doors, you remembered that your everyday life is an opportunity to serve God by obeying His command: “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:31)?
This perspective can transform ordinary moments into meaningful opportunities to serve others and make an eternal difference.
Jesus calls us to consider the compassion demonstrated by the Good Samaritan and to respond similarly when God places someone in need in our path. In Matthew 25, Jesus identifies several needs to which His followers should respond:
“I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
Neighborlove provides devotionals, blog posts, teachings, and online programs that educate, encourage, and motivate neighbors to serve in the areas described in Matthew 25. This is our Threefold Ministry of Service. Our goal is to move believers about our attitudes towards our neighbors near and far. To move believers to be awake about the eternal consequences about our thoughts and attitudes of our hearts towards loving our neighbors.
Individual Service
Serve as an ambassador for God by responding compassionately to the people He places in your path. This is the personal, one-on-one service modeled after the Good Samaritan. Explore the devotionals, prepare your heart, and be ready when God gives you an opportunity to help someone.
Community Service
When we become aware of needs in our communities, we can respond to the concerns Jesus identified in Matthew 25. We serve by volunteering with local organizations, donating needed goods and resources, and supporting ministries and programs that care for vulnerable neighbors. Discover where your gifts, time, and resources can make a meaningful difference.
Advocacy and Civic Service
Jesus teaches us to be faithful with what has been entrusted to us (Matthew 25:14–30), to love our neighbors through practical action (Mark 12:31), to pursue justice and care for people in need (Isaiah 58), and to be people of peace rather than division (1 Corinthians 14:33).
Civic service is not about loyalty to a political party or winning an argument. It is about seeking the good of our neighbors and helping our communities flourish. Through prayer, learning, respectful advocacy, community service, and informed voting, each of us can help bring the comfort and relief to our neighbors in our cities, states, and nation.
The mission field is all around you. Learn. Prepare. Serve. Love your neighbor.
